To enrol your child at ABC Educare, we have some guidelines in place to ensure a smooth transition for both the child and their family/whanau:

• Regular transition visits are necessary before the child begins attending the centre. The number and duration of these visits will vary depending on the child’s developmental needs and the level of comfort and confidence they and their family feel.
• Children with diverse needs will have a gradual transition process, with support from their family, key teacher, and other community professionals as necessary.
• Our ‘Key Teacher System’ assigns one or two teachers to each child, who take personal responsibility for their well-being within the group. This system is unique to each age group: infants, toddlers, and children.
• Parents/family/whanau must be available for contact in case their child becomes inconsolable and needs to be picked up for emotional well-being.
• We encourage parents/family/whanau to check in on their child at any time by calling or messaging the centre.
• Creating a drop-off ritual or saying goodbye to their child is encouraged as it helps build trust between the child and the centre’s adults.
• Our management and key teachers will introduce parents/family/whanau to centre policies and procedures during the enrolment and settling process.

We understand that enrolling a child in a new environment can be challenging, and our goal is to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible for both the child and their family/whanau.
